The Modern REALTOR and How to Thrive

CE Credit: 7

Instructor: Mary Peyton

In the past 10 years, New York State has implemented new laws and expectations for licensed real estate professionals in regards to Fair Housing, and ending discrimination. This is an age of technology, social media, regulations, and new terms- some are thriving within this new age, and some are finding it more difficult to navigate. This course is meant to help REALTORS understand why these Fair Housing laws have been implemented; what DEI, implicit bias, and cultural competency actually mean for your business and personal life; how best to understand and how to appreciate diverse workplaces; and what to do when confronting one’s own or someone else’s bias. Case studies will be given and scenarios discussed to best encourage participation and growth in attendees. Fair Housing isn’t a hamper to business- it is a historically significant asset everyone can understand and appreciate by the conclusion of this course.
