Global MLS Looking Forward
The past year has tested everyone’s mental fortitude and required everyone to accept the fact that the only constant thing in life is change.
In 2021 members can look for the following things to be happening in and around the Global MLS:
- Addition of the program Listing Data Checker into the MLS – this will offer an opportunity to ensure listings are reviewed early in the process to catch issues in accordance with our Rules and Regulations and assist members by checking for issues before the listing goes live to prevent potential fines.
- Standard end of contract review of the top 3 MLS vendors in order to provide the best opportunities to our membership
- Monthly virtual MLS Education classes potentially for CE credit. These classes are at a cost as they are provided by the Global MLS and are not associated with GCAR’s free education for members.
- There are new MLS Listing numbers, to begin with 2021
- A new Enrollment Agreement the first time you signed into the MLS in 2021
- New Field in Global MLS – Buyer Zip Code
You will find a new Required field to be completed once you close out your listings as sold, Buyer Zip Code. It is the zip code from where the buyer came from, which should be found on the Purchase Contract. Tracking buyer zip codes will help all members, leadership, and staff better identify where buyers are coming from, what trends are occurring, and clear, specific market movements by segmented areas.
Best business practices…
- In today’s real estate world, your technology holds a key to your success. To that end, it is best to regularly clear browser history, and cache and cookies from your computer.
- Keeping transaction documents is clearly an important step of being in the real estate business. Please ensure you have a few places that you keep your secure paperwork to ensure you are never caught without it.
The Global MLS leadership and staff are here to deliver and maintain systems and information that help your business flourish and grow. If you need something, say something!
