New DOS Rules For Renewing Your License!

REALTORS® want to do the right thing, especially when it comes to renewing their real estate license.  Therefore, make certain you’re aware that the Department of State (DOS) has new renewal requirements effective July 1, 2021.

REALTORS® who renew on or After July 1, 2021, must have taken the standard 3 hours of Fair Housing/anti-discrimination training and 1 hour of Law of Agency (or 2 hours if within your first licensing period). In addition, the new rules state that the following new education courses must be taken: 2.5 hours of business ethics and 1 hour of ‘Legal Update’.  This change increases the DOS core (required) courses to 7.5 hours of content plus 15 hours of class electives, leaving the total hours of education still 22.5 hours.
