Lobby Day
The New York State Association of REALTORS® hosted their annual lobby day on May 10th at the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany. GCAR members met with eight local lawmakers which included Senator Michelle Hinchey, Senator James Tedisco, Senator Daphne Jordan, and Representatives Mary Beth Walsh, Phil Steck, Carrie Woerner, John McDonald, and Jake Ashby.
The GCAR members briefed the lawmakers on NYSAR’s 2022 legislative priorities and explained how these key issues affect the real estate business. The four main issues discussed were Good Cause Eviction (S.3082/A.5573), the All-Electric Building Act (S.6843B/A.8431A), amendments to the State’s telemarketing restrictions (S.7656/A8662), and the Transparency and Fairness in Co-op Housing (S.2846/A.5856).
