A Message from GCAR President, Kathleen Sullivan

As many of you know, last week, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) announced an agreement to end litigation of claims brought by home sellers related to broker commissions. The GCAR Leadership has been closely following the lengthy litigation and preparing for various outcomes to ensure we are well-equipped to handle whatever challenges arise. We remain committed to advocating for your interests and will navigate through this period with strength and unity.

While we’re disappointed by the news media’s misreporting of NAR, MLS, and members’ current and past practices and the provisions of the settlement, we applaud NAR’s resolve to find a workable settlement so that we may, upon the court’s approval of the settlement, begin the process of moving on. I encourage each of you to take a moment to listen to NAR President Kevin Sears’ message on the settlement.
