Many thanks to Barbara Walton, Dominic Indelicato, Diane Sluus (Community Relations Committee Chair), Jay Christiana, Jonie Civill, Judy Kaiser, Karen Cahill, and Laura Guillerault for volunteering their time on May 10 at the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne along with members from the Southern Adirondack REALTORS® (SAR). This yearly event gratifies all who participate in such a wonderful organization.

Members planted flowers and spread mulch to prepare the property for the first campers and volunteers arriving in a few weeks.

Hats off to Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. and Homestead Funding for sponsoring breakfast and lunch for all the participants!
The Double H Ranch, located in New York’s beautiful Adirondack Park, demonstrates the commitment and generosity of philanthropist Charles R. Wood and actor Paul Newman. Since the Double H officially opened on July 4, 1993, it has served over 80,000 children with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. It was the second “Hole in the Wall Camp” in what has become a worldwide network of not-for-profit recreational and therapeutic experiences for children with serious illnesses called the SeriousFun Children’s Network.

The facility resides on 320 acres of land with waterfront access to Lake Vanare. The facilities include camper cabins that can accommodate 126 campers, staff cabins that can accommodate 125 staff members, and volunteer cabins that can accommodate 50 volunteers. Program areas include an indoor and outdoor pool, a high ropes course, archery, horseback riding and pasture, a picnic pavilion, a stage area, a dining hall, Arts & Crafts building/ski chalet, and various other outdoor spaces used for recreational play and opportunities to explore nature.
