Meets DOS requirements for Cultural Competency

Prepare to be challenged! Discussions are aplenty, but this course is meant to make you feel uncomfortable as it challenges you to engage in discourse with fellow REALTORS on touchy subjects and asks you to take a new perspective on cultural competency.

The entire class will be a discussion of how to identify and implement what we learn about ourselves in the course to improve our interaction with the consumer and create a better experience for buyer, seller, landlord, tenant, etc., and finally, the history and legacy of segregation and its impact in the housing sector. We will provide the Agency Disclosure Form, Property Conditions Disclosure Form, Housing Anti-Discrimination Form, etc., in many different available languages for them to better understand how we will be working with or representing them. The main topic is the impact of fair housing laws on local and state-wide real estate transactions, how they’ve impacted our business, and how to be better agents with a clear understanding of these fair housing laws.
