In-Depth Mediation Training for Implementation
CE Credit: 6
Instructor: Leigh York
What is known as “mediation” within the professional standards process is not only NAR’s preferred method of dispute resolution but is a proven factor in healing networking woes and friction between brokerages and improving morale within businesses. Mediation is the parties’ opportunity to settle their dispute with the assistance of a neutral, third-party mediator. This course teaches you the skills and system necessary to be that mediator. All local REALTOR® associations must, as a benefit of membership, offer the ability to mediate otherwise arbitrable disputes. In some REALTOR® associations, mediation is required before an arbitration hearing.
This course is exclusively for Broker Owners/Principal Brokers with at least three years of experience.
At the end of this course, attendees will:
- Recognize the value of dispute resolution within our daily business activities and identify the opportunities.
- Know the limits of the mediator’s role.
- Recognize and maintain confidentiality and neutrality as a mediator.
- Effectively apply the basic system and stages of the process.
- Confidently facilitate the process of dispute resolution.
Lunch will be provided.
