This is not a passive learning experience- be prepared to be challenged and called to speak in this course!

How best do you advocate for the person using another source of income (SOI) if that person feels a homeowner has discriminated against them? How do we provide access to housing for all, regardless of the person’s source of income and protected class? We must provide resources for that person to be able to file a complaint against the person who discriminated against them. This course focuses on the source of income of the New York State Laws that protect and focus on it for disparate impact on marginalized communities. Educating the homeowners who will not and are not willing to accept other SOIs to rent their properties and addressing perceptions, stereotypes, and negative observations of people who are using SOIs to rent their property will help all REALTORS go forth with fairness and understanding in the eyes of the law.
