CE Credit: 8
Instructor: Diane Disbrow
Meets NAR and DOS requirement for code of ethics
This professional standards training emphasizes the responsibilities of member Boards, elected Officers and Directors, and the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees members. It also familiarizes them with the obligations and rights of complainants and respondents in professional standards matters.
Through lectures, game shows, case studies, and student interaction, students understand the elements of due process and the role of a grievance committee in reviewing ethics and arbitration cases. Students will take a case through the grievance process and participate in a mock hearing and decision-making.
Diane’s teaching style helps members learn through doing. Procuring cause factors will be presented, and students can apply those factors when considering who is entitled to compensation in a cooperative transaction. Procedures for ethics hearings, appropriate sanctions, and the importance of writing clear and concise findings of facts are also covered.
This course meets the learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS® for professional standards administrators.
December 31, 2024, is the deadline for completing cycle 7 of the National Association of REALTORS® code of ethics course requirement.
