Professionalism and Real Estate: Suit Up or Buckle Down

CE Credit: 1.5

Instructor: Joanne Russell, The Mortgage Place

To navigate the business and professional world is to be empathetic, understanding, and accepting of others’ cultural differences so we can appreciate our similarities to better the client’s life- especially by understanding fully and following Fair Housing laws by erasing our implicit biases and becoming culturally competent in professional transactions. Utilizing cultural and historical context can explain why Western ideals of professionalism, especially in real estate, can harm those who do not adhere to them. Education on such a topic is the bridge between understanding and professionalism. This bridge is paved by grace and effective communication, which people can learn in this course.
