President’s Message – Mar/Apr
As real estate professionals, we are responsible for ensuring that all individuals are treated fairly and equally when it comes to housing. Discrimination of any kind is not only unethical but also illegal.
In April, we celebrate National Fair Housing Month to increase our efforts to end housing discrimination and raise awareness of fair housing rights. Each year, we reconfirm our commitment to upholding fair housing law and offering equal professional service to all in their search for real property.
I urge all GCAR members to educate themselves on fair housing laws and regulations and implement policies and procedures that promote fair and equal treatment for all. We must do everything in our power to ensure that we are complying with the law and creating a positive and welcoming environment for all who seek our services.
Keep an eye on the GCAR education calendar (gcar.com/calendar) for upcoming fair housing, ethics, and DEI courses.
Let’s all commit to upholding fair housing principles and working together to create a better and more inclusive real estate industry.
Additionally, commit to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) before your to-do list gets too long. RPAC is the only professional organization in the country organized for REALTORS®, run by REALTORS®, and exists to promote issues important to REALTORS®. RPAC provides financial support to lawmakers and candidates who understand and support private-property rights and the real estate industry.
RPAC is your best resource to influence the long-term growth and stability of the real estate industry. We support and educate pro-REALTOR® candidates on legislative issues that impact your business most. You can make your investment at gcar.com/invest or look for upcoming RPAC events to mix fun and political awareness.
