Community Relations Committee is asking for your help

On August 17th at the Wilton NY Headquarters of “Operation Adopt a Soldier”, a fire broke out resulting in a total loss of the building contents which included donations and more than 200 packages that were ready to be shipped to Troops serving overseas.

The Community Relations Committee is collecting items to help this worthy cause and they are asking for your assistance.  Donations can be brought to the GCAR General Membership Meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2019, 10:00 a.m.,  at the Century House in Latham, New York.  Suggested items for donation:  lotion, band-aids, board games, dry snacks, chapstick, shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, magazines, energy bars, cough drops, hats, and gloves.  Click here to see a full list of items.

Community Outreach Funds

Many thanks to all the GCAR members who have contributed to the Community Outreach Fund.  Because of YOUR generosity, many non-profits organizations continue to receive financial support each year.

On October 9, 2019 checks were presented to representatives of the following organizations: Schoharie County Community Action Program, Joseph’s House & Shelter and Capital Roots. Family Adoption

The Community Relations Committee has been adopting a family for the holidays for the past several years and this year is no exception.  Committee members are pleased to help out a family of four from Saratoga County this holiday season.  Gifts purchased by the committee members will be delivered to the family in early December.
