Implicit Bias

CE Credit: 2

Instructor: Freddimir Garcia, HGAR Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer

Under all is the land” is what is stated in the REALTOR Code of Ethics. To serve all equally is to remove implicit bias from all interactions with clients and colleagues. Implicit bias is defined as the attitudes or stereotypes that affect an individual’s understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. Creating professionalism in the workplace and equity in all real estate interactions gives all demographics the chance at homeownership. The best business practice that we can teach real estate agents and brokers is allowing anyone the right to buy or rent a home without bias.
